The Town has received an $87,000 grant under the state's Urban Act Program. These were funds applied for several years ago and were approved this year. The projects funded, under the program, are:
• Public Works Department Heavy Storage Mezzanine: The project consists of a 13’ x 24’ steel grated area above the rear section of east-most bay of the Highway Garage. The project will provide the department with additional heavy storage. Preliminary estimate $45,500.
• Office Renovations-former ambulance building: The building is approximately 1,400 SF and is directly behind the main Town Hall building. Improvements include renovation, painting, carpeting and HVAC. Plans have been developed; but, no estimate is available.

• Survey and Wetlands Identification: The Town owns two large parcels that could present significant potential. 1025 Colonel Ledyard Highway is approximately 102 acres and 1087 colonel Ledyard Highway is about 43 acres. Additional information on each parcel will allow the Town to make better decisions concerning their future use.
The request for proposals (RFP) to prepare the survey is currently out to bid with a return date of April 14, 2011 by 3:00 PM.
